- What is Anti Theft Control 2013?

Anti Theft Control 2013 Engine is a security application to protect your phone from unauthorized use. You need to setup your password and your contact data : Host phone number and Host email address *ATTENTION* Host Phone number must be a different number not the one you have in your phone in order to send and receive data even if someone steals your phone with your sim card inside. After you have setup your contact data you can enable the "Activate on Sms" option for the phone to start listening for new sms commands. If you like, instead of using sms commands, you can always use the Email Remote Engine and control your phone via email commands. Its up to you!

- How to Launch Anti Theft Control 2013?

Anti Theft Control 2013 is fully hidden from the system so noone can be aware there is a security measure installed on your phone. To Open Anti Theft Control 2013 please press the "Photo Manager" icon in your app list, read the description inside and then open your dialer and call this number: 4141. This is the default launch code and you can change it later from the settings.

- Why i can't see the app on my list?

Because the app is hidden. After your installation you will see a new app by the name : "Photo Manager" and if you try to open it nothing will happen. This is Anti Theft Control's camouflage so dont worry and dont try to remove it.

- Why the name of the application includes "2013"?

Because there will be a new build on the first quarter of 2013. Every year a totally new build will be available for the public with new features, massive improvements and new UI design. This doesn't mean that the previous builds will not get any updates, bug fixes or support.

- Anything Critical i need to know first?

Yes! You need after your initial password setup to setup Your Contact Details: *Your Name*, *Host phone number*, *Host email address* and *Lock Phone Number*. You need to insert correct/valid data because if you don't the application will not function properly and you will not be able to receive your backup password that is automatic generated from the system in case you forget your main security password. Also you need to enable "Device Administration" option in order to protect Anti Theft Control from unauthorized uninstallation and to be able to use wipedata remote command. You also need to Keep in mind that after market task killers and sms applications may cause serious problems to Anti Theft Control. We recommend to use the default sms application and no task killers. Friedly tip : If you're running android 2.2+ you dont really need a task killer. Os is already optimized to handle just fine the background processes.

- If my phone is stolen how Anti Theft Control 2013 will help me find it?

The first thing you need to know is that Anti Theft Control does not have any web interface and its not connected to any web server. The only way to manage your phone is via sms (to the phone number installed on your phone) or via email (to a specific gmail address you need to setup in the Activate On Email section) if you are a pro user and you have this feature unlocked. If your phone is stolen the first thing the thief is going to do is probably shut it down and remove your sim card so you cant send any commands. If you have done a proper setup and you have the security measures like "Sim Security" enabled then you need to wait until the thief activates the phone again with his new sim card. The phone will realize that the sim card has been changed and it will notify you to your host phone number and host email address about the thief's new phone number and the location of your phone (You can send commands to the new phone number the thief installed on your phone when you're going to get it from Anti Theft Control's lock notification). The phone will lock and it will be totally useless for someone to operate it. The only way to unlock the phone is to enter the security password you have setup in the settings. Keep in mind that the phone will not only lock if a sim card change occur but it will also lock if you have security measures like uninstall protection market protection and device administration enabled. For example if the thief tries to uninstall the app with uninstall protection and device administration options enabled the phone will lock or if the thief tries to access the Play store (android market) with Uninstall protection and Market protection options enabled the phone will also lock. We recommend to decide wisly what security measures you will enable to have your phone secure. *BEWARE* that if the thief is an advanced user he can bypass the OS and enter the boot recovery menu (like the dos mode in your computer before you boot in to windows) to wipe the phone completely. There is no application that can protect you from this situation. We just want you to know all the possible scenarios.

- Any Specific way to setup my Contact Data?

Yes! First of all you need to insert correct data. Your *Host email address* must be an active email account that you have access to, your *Host phone number(s)* must be secondary phone number(s) and not the same with the one you have installed on the phone running Anti Theft Control, *Your Name* requires nothing special just you real name and finally the *Lock Phone Number* must be also a second phone number and not the same with the one you have installed on the phone running Anti Theft Control . *ATTENTION* Please DO NOT use symbols in your *Host Phone Number(s)* and *Lock Phone Number*. If your phone number is 2117133234 and you live in Greece, you don't need to add your Country code i mean don't use this format : +30211..... just write the phone number without the + symbol and your Country code like this : 2117133234.

- What is Email Remote Engine?

You can send email commands to a specific gmail address. For example you can lock the phone with the lock command but with a simple email avoiding the sometimes painful sms cost. Please read the instructions from inside the Email Remote Engine's menu on how to do a proper setup and what to avoid.

- What is Command parameters?

The Engine will allow you to set/change/manage command parameters remotly without entering the settings of ATC 2013.

How it works?

It's very simple, when you send a command from the list below you can add an extra parameter. The list of supported commands is:

- Spy Cam Command
- Spy Video Command
- Spy Rec Command
- Where's My phone Command

How can i use the parameters?

Let's asume that you know how to use the remote commands, the procedure is the same, you send the command that you want (ex: theft.ring.on) you leave a space and then you add the parameter.
The List below contains all the command and parameter combinations. Use them as you like (In the examples below we're using the default commands)

- What is FTP Report Engine?

Its an advance security measure to help you collect all your system and tracking logs to your FTP Server. You can choose How often the system will perform an upload of the system log file to your ftp server. Tracking logs will be uploaded automatically every time the phone locks and start tracking procedure. To setup your ftp server is easy just insert your server's details and test the connection. if it's successful then your ready to go, if it's not try again and check the path of the folder you added, if its valid and if the permissions of the folder are correct (775 or 777 is the best choice).

- What is Dropbox Report Engine?

Its an advance security measure to help you collect all your system and tracking logs to your Dropbox Account. You can choose How often the system will perform an upload of the system log file to your Dropbox. Tracking logs will be uploaded automatically every time the phone locks and start tracking procedure. To setup your dropbox account simply press "Link My Dropbox" button and then you will be redirected to dropbox.com's website to authorize Anti Theft Control to perform uploads to your account.

- What "Spy Cam' , "Spy Sound Rec" and "Spy Video Rec" are for?

These are commands you can send to your phone to activate Camera and Microphone Recording for a specific amount of time. After the recording is done you will get the file to your host email address ( File types are : Spy Cam : jpg , Spy Sound Rec : 3gp , Spy Video Rec : mp4 ). You can enable only 1 function per time. For Example : You can send the Spy Video Rec command ( you need to have enabled the "Spy Video Rec" option first and then you can use the command ) to campure a 30 secs video. After the recording is done the system will automatically send the video file to your host email address. Same goes also for the other 2 functions.

- What About the Security Settings?

"Device Administration". You need to enable this and give admin rights to Anti Theft Control. By giving the rights, you will prevent unauthorized uninstall of anti theft control and you will be able to use the wipedata remote command. No worries at all, Anti Theft Control is a secure reliable application and will not brick your phone by giving it admin rights. You will also see what admin rights the application asks so you can decide!

"Launch Code". This is the numeric code you need to dial in order to open Anti Theft Control. If you want to change it we Recommend to keep it 4 digits. (WARNING: Do not use symbols or letters ONLY numbers)

"Perimeter Zone Security". Define a perimeter zone area for your phone and protect it from leaving this area without your knowlege. When you're going to open this setting you will need to wait 10 secs until the phone gets your location, then you can choose the zone area size and the alert action. If the perimeter zone is bridged then your phone will perform your selected action and will disable perimeter zone security option so you dont get spammed with messages. If you want to re-use it simple reopen the setting, wait for Anti Theft Control to get your location and then enable it again. The Engine will stay active as long as the phone remains inside your specific zone area.

"Facebook Connection". This Option will allow your phone to post alert messages to your facebook wall if a security measure is bridged. Its fairly easy to setup and its secure because it uses the official Facebook SDK.

"Widget Control Panel". Activate this option to enable the widget (Anti Theft Panel) to manage your security measures from your home screen.

"Activate Logs". if this option is true then your phone will keep Logs for every Anti Theft Control event occurs. For example if a new command received it will write to the log file what command was that, if it was executed successfully and from what phone number came from. The Log Engine will do the same for all the important Anti Theft Control events you need to know. You can also view the log file from the application's Log Viewer. You can find the log viewer in the about section. Also you can clear the log file by pressing menu in the log Viewer activity and choose Clear Log.

"Show Notifications". If this option is true your phone will post a notification message in your notification bar to warn you what security measure is active.

"Block Outgoing Calls". if this option is true your phone will block all the outgoing calls (calls we make from our phone not receiving) except the launch code to open Anti Theft Control 2013.

"Activate SIM Security". if this option is true then your phone will monitor (No battery consumption at all) if a SIM Card change occur and will lock the phone requesting the Security password to accept this new SIM Card.

"Uninstall Protection". If this option is true then your phone will protect all your applications from unauthorized uninstall. It will lock the phone and ask for your security password. After you insert it then you can proceed uninstalling your applications.

"Play Store Protection". If this option is true then uninstall protection engine will also protect your phone from unauthorized use of the Play Store application. For example anyone can uninstall an application directly from the Google Play Store app but by protecting/locking the app there is no way to do it.

"Services Protection". If this option is true then uninstall protection engine will also protect your phone's services from unauthorized termination.

- Do i need to have enabled Password Recovery?

Yes because there is a huge possibility that some day you will forgot your password.

- Which are the default Commands?

- What About The Customization Settings?

"Misleading Launcher". Set an external app to open when someone presses the Photo Manager Shortcut (Anti Theft Control's disguise)

"Select Spy Cam". Select which Camera will take the Spy Pictures or shoot the Spy Video Recordings.

"Sms Confirmation". When you send sms commands to ATC 2013, the system will reply via sms that received the command and execute it. You can disable this option to keep the sms cost down but keep in mind you will not get any confirmation that your command has been accepted and executed. This option doesn't effect the critical data that commands send to the user. (example: Location Data, GPS Data, Battery stats etc...)

"Spy View Background". Select from 3 options (black screen, android image, none) the background of the SurfaceView when the Spy Cam or Spy Video Rec is activated.

"Spy Video Action". Choose if you want the system to store the spy video file in your storage or send it to your Host Email Address. The big difference between these 2 options is that if you choose to store the file, the camera will shoot at HD. (To use this function you need to have the RearCam Selected from the option "Select Spy Cam")

"Ringing Time". Select How long the phone will ring when using Where's My Phone Command.

"Sound Rec Time". Select how long your phone will record audio when using Spy Sound Rec Command.

"Vibrate". Select if you want your phone to vibrate when using Where's My Phone Command.

- OK i have setup everything in the Settings. Now?

Now you are ready to go! When a lock down event occur the phone will start the GPS Tracking Engine to send Data to your host email address and host phone number ( You need to enable the GPS Tracking option from the Anti theft Control Settings. From default in enabled ). The unauthorized user will not be able to do something in your phone and will not know that the phone is sending you his/her location. For someone to unlock the phone and stop the tracking services needs the Security password or to send an unlock command from the host phone number.

- What about Anti Theft Control 2013 Widget "Anti Theft Locker"?

The use of it is to lock your phone anytime you want without commands or Sim changes. You can use this if someone is trying to steal your phone and you need a fast lock down

- How can i safely uninstall Anti Theft Control 2013?

If you're having trouble uninstalling Anti theft Control then please make sure you have all security measures disabled and especially "Administration Rights" and "Uninstall Protection". After disabling all these options then you can uninstall without any problems.
